League of Women Voters presentation

League of Women Voters presentation In-Person

This month's speaker is Melanie Bull.

Melanie is a seasoned policy professional with over a decade of experience working with Tennessee State Government, as well as grassroots voting work. Her policy experience has been in, healthcare, education, voting and accessibility legislation. She first interned with the Tennessee General Assembly, worked for the Tennessee Primary Care Association and moved to serve as Public Policy Director at the Tennessee Disability Coalition. She is currently the Senior Associate at Schmidt Government Solutions. Melanie grew up in East Tennessee and moved to Nashville to attend Belmont University where she received a degree in Political Science and a minor in Economics. She has called Nashville home for the past 16 years.

The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan volunteer organization that promotes engaged, informed, and active participation in government. Since the creation of the national organization 100 years ago — before women were ever guaranteed the right to vote — its programs and activities have focused not just on voting rights for all citizens, but the broader picture of civic engagement that includes everything from participating in the census to walking into the polling place for the first time. Learning more about public policies and issues allows members of the public to make informed decisions about the matters that impact their communities.
