Medicine and the Great War, A Centennial Review In-Person
In rembrance of the 100th anniversary of the WWI's end on Nov 11, 1918, join us for a talk presented by Terrence Smith. He will discuss new technologies of that time, casualties, medical advances, important people in WWI medicine, and Vanderbilt's Hospital Unit 'S'.
Smith is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Vanderbilt University & a US Army Colonel serving as Chief of Aviation Medicine for the Alabama Army National Guard; he has over 30 years in the army & has served with the 3rd Infantry Division in Iraq, a division that was most prominent in actions along the Western Front during the Great War. He and his wife, Michele, are also civil war re-enactors and have a keen interest in American history.
