History Hour:

History Hour: In-Person

Join us for our new History Hour series as we explore fascinating people, places, and events that changed history and left a lasting impact on our world.

Bring your old family cookbook and get ready to draw. Has Professor Flagel got a project for you! We are going to find out how cookbooks are actually great History books. They show the reality of our shared past far better than any book about kings, emperors, generals or presidents (except maybe Flagel's History Buff's Guide to the Presidents. That's actually a good read). We'll finish with a good old-fashioned recipe swap, just in time for the holidays!

Dr. Thomas Flagel is a professor of History at Columbia State. Author of War, Memory, and the 1913 Gettysburg Reunion, and The History Buff’s Guide series, he has also worked with a number of historic preservation organizations.
