Edible and Medicinal Mushrooms of Tennessee In-Person
Jenny McKee will lead us into an exploration of the edible and medicinal mushrooms you can find or grow here in Tennessee. This class will cover mushroom foraging, cultivating mushrooms at home, the top five edible mushrooms found in Tennessee, and avoiding toxic varieties.
A little introduction from the presenter:
"I've been a resident of Tn since 1989. Before I moved to Tennessee, I was born in Colorado where I developed a love and appreciation for nature. With an early exposure to emergency medicine as an EMT-I, plant medicine and mushrooms became a passion of mine. It has been my experience that Western medicine hasn't always held the answers for me. This has led me on a lifelong journey into the natural sphere of health and healing. Being an outdoor enthusiast has offered great opportunities to learn more about mushrooms, how and where they grow, and how we can better incorporate them into our lives for the goal of better health, cleaner food, and better well-being.
