Genealogy: May It Please the Court -Court Records in the U.S. In-Person

Civil and criminal court records are public information, and some cases might prove more intriguing to genealogists than others. We will learn how to locate a court docket online, try to understand what some of the descriptions mean, and how to request such records from local authorities.

Our guest presenter will be Gary Coin. Coin has been interested in his family history for many years, especially after interviewing his French grandfather for a history class in college. Gary has worked in law firms as a paralegal, so he knows how to find different types of court cases from county courts around the country. He also serves on the board of the Middle Tennessee Genealogical Society.
