Knitted Hats

Knitted Hats In-Person

This class will teach you everything you need to know about knitting a hat with the proper yarn and correct measurements of diameter, crown and rise.  Learn both the flat technique as well as circular. Students need to bring worsted weight yarn and straight, circular and double pointed needles in size 8.  Circular needles need to be 16" in length.  Homework:  Cast on 84 stitches on the straight needles and work in stockinette (knit one side and purl the other side) for 5-1/2 inches.  Cast on 84 stitches on the circular needles.   OR  Student may bring bulky yarn and straight, circular and double pointed needles in size 13.  Circular needles need to be 16" in length. Homework:  Cast on 48 stitches on the straight needles and work in stockinette (knit and side and purl the other side) for 5-1/2 inches.  Cast on 48 stitches on the circular needles.   Patterns for all will be provided, as well as one for the messy bun hat!  Students need to know how to knit and read a pattern.
